ALKHAIRIAH CEBU MOSQUE IN MAMBALING, CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES
DUTIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE ALKHAIRIA MOSQUE COMMITEE
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
COMPOSITION
The Mosque Management Committee shall comprise the following members:

Wakaf Board of AKI representative or nominee
-
Mosque Administrator/Imam
-
2 Resident Balik Islam members, at least 1 of who must be a woman
-
1 other alternate nominee from the Cebu Muslim community
The AKI Wakaf Board representative or nominee and the Mosque Administrator/Imam are permanent members of the Committee. Other members will serve for two years (from the date of this policy) on voluntary basis. An Adviser on Mosque Services may be co-opted for purposes of consensus in all religious and spiritual matters.
If any posts become vacant during the year, additional members may be co-opted until the next term, at which time new appointments are issued. The period of co-optation will be counted as part of the term of office.
There shall be a Minutes Secretary to support the smooth functioning of the Management Committee. The Treasurer who maintains an overview of the financial affairs shall ensure that proper financial records and procedures are kept in the Office of Imam.
ROLE
The role of the Mosque Management Committee is to discharge the following:

Ensure that the Mosque operate according to Muslim Trust (wakaf) practices and in compliance with Al-Jumiyyah Al-Khairiah Foundation policies and regulations.

Ensure that responsibilities for particular aspects of management, such as personnel matters, financial control, and volunteer services are undertaken and specialist task is employed as required.

Ensure the supervision of the activities and projects undertaken by the Cebu Al-Khairia Mosque.
The Management Committee shall facilitate change and resolve controversy within the organization. It shall perform liaison function with the chief executive officer of the Al-Khairiah Wakaf Board to achieve this end.
SERVICES
The Mosque provides the following services:

Jummah / Friday Prayers
Jummah prayers are offered at 12 pm to 1 pm. The kuthba is delivered in local language with translation to cater for whole congregation.

Nikah / Marriage Ceremonies
The mosque offers the services of the Imam for Nikah reading and registration ceremony for those who wish to get married under Islamic law. The ceremonies can be held at the mosque and this can be organized under the mosque administrator.

Madrasah / Educational Facilities
The mosque aims to provide and promote religious education and it provides regular classed to children and adults for this purpose. Da'wah is performed for those who wish to learn more about Islam and intend to embrace the Islamic faith.

Ghusal / Funeral Services
The mosque also has a fully equipped Ghusal facility for receiving and washing of the deceased. There are local Muslim organizations that are available by request to assist and guide individuals and families with funeral and burial arrangements.
The Management Committee advocates for and represents the organization at community meetings and events.
Members are duty-bound to communicate the vision and purposes of the Al-Jumiyyah Al-Khairiah within the community and society at large.
Members must be aware of current issues that might affect the organization. They must strive to be exemplary and virtuous in conduct and character.
The Al-Khairiah Mosque is a registered religious institution and all the charitable work is undertaken by volunteers and there is always a need for new volunteers who have relevant experience and skills that can benefit the mosque.
